Who's sick of the Teeth and Claws argument against Human Omnivorism? Or as I like to call it... Brain denial.
Almost all primates are insectivores - we all eat animals. What differentiates hominids and gives us a huge advantage in the nutrients needed for brain development is that we eat bigger animals, which tend to have higher body fat percentages.
Our closest relative, chimpanzees, eat a lot of bird eggs, baby birds, reptiles, amphibians and smaller mammals. Compare their brains to the purely insectivorous monkeys...
Take that a step further with something similar which lost some hair density, bone and upper body muscle weight, and became bipedal so it could work in groups to chase big fat large mammals like wildebeests to death: so much brain power that it might invent the internet.
